Project Description Summary

The site was created in 2019 to compensate for lost areas of salt marsh during the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls Project.

The Tidal Walls Project aimed to reinforce sea defences around the estuary to protect the town of Shoreham against 21st century sea level rise.

Restoration was carried out by moving an entire section of the sea wall (approx. 750 m long) inland, providing accommodation space for salt marsh development.
